Yaking Clown flight report.
I profiled this build over on Stunt Hanger, brodak Baby Clown modified to look like a Yak 50.

Flying on 45 feet of 30lb spiderwire, TeeDee .051, master airscrew 6x3 cut to just a hair under 5x3.

I've read where Rusty said the baby flite streak was his first 1/2a that didn't feel like a toy, man I get that now! The ability to control the size of manuevers and tightness of corners is amazing. It far exceeds my flying abilities. Never thought I would say this but I may slow it down a little so I can clean up my flying! Two word kit review: Buy it!
This is what I've figured out for flopping a bladder over the wing:

Tie it to a rubber band that is stretched around the wing and rotate to where it pulls the bladder tight. As the bladder shrinks it rotates the rubber band, keeping the bladder snug to the wing but not overly tight:

Great Jim!
I knew you would like it. It does fly well and is currently my stunt contest trainer as it flies almost as well as the big guys. I also like your bladder set up. I am about to go that route here soon and I may steal your idea.
Your Yak/Clown will stay real tight in the overheads as well. It's just a good flying plane all around. Have fun!
BTW, thanks for the Fox heads. I was so busy I forgot to thank you.

Very nice, Jim. I'm thinking next time I build a 1/2A plane, I might have to get a Clown. Really good flying too, you had that baby under control the whole flight.

Thanks guys. You're welcome Ron, I had forgotten about those as well! Glad they went to someone that can make use of them.

Re: Yaking Clown flight report.
Was having problems getting a good run today. I would set it screaming lean and in 1/2 lap it would go so rich you could pick the plane up by the engine as soon as it landed. It did kind of a 4/2/4 which was cool but not on 45 foot lines. Same fuel as yesterday, switched out the plug, nothing. Decided to slip fuel tubing over the needle:

Worked like a charm, got me this:

I find it strange that an air leak would make it go rich in flight. Any explanations?

! Vertical 8s, Jim!?
I'm pretty sure I saw some V8s in that flight. The Tee Dee was definitely running better today than it was yesterday.
Start throwing a couple of wingovers into your routine. Just don't let them mesmerize you into forgetting to pull out!
Don't ask me how that happens.

Re: Yaking Clown flight report.
There's a wingover in there, I just pull out really high! That and the camera angle makes it tough to tell. Did my first v8 yesterday. Those are scary, real good way to wreck the airplane. This planes amazing. It even does straight and level better than anything else I've flown.RknRusty wrote:! Vertical 8s, Jim!?
