Ringmaster Flyathon!!!!!!!!!!! October 5th - 6th!!!!!!!!
For all in the area or want to travel to Chehalis, Washington. We will be hosting the Ringmaster Flyathon at the airport in Chehalis. I don't have the exact times yet, but should start around 9-10am and go until we are to tired to fly anymore (both Saturday and Sunday). If you have a Ringmaster bring it, if not we will have some to loan. We fly for fun, but would like to get high flight numbers again. We have two circles, one one concrete and one half concrete and half grass. And room to fly 1/2A's on 35' lines over grass. Bragging rights to the pilot to fly the most. Bring a lunch if you want or there's a couple places to sit down and eat or fast food really close. Bring chairs and whatever else you need to to keep yourselves fliying all weekend.
Ringmaster Mark- Bring the 'Baby Brothers' and the growing Portland CEF crew.
Super Dave- I would love to see there.

Geeeeez.... I'm on the Ea. coast here in Rhode Island... and would LOVE to even just be there as a "spectator" for this. (I hope you post some pics/vids!)
I've got 2 original vintage "Sterling" Ringmaster's... a Junior-30" w/s S5 kit (built) and the original 42" w/s S1-395 kit almost ready for covering. Fox .15/Enya .19V choice for the "Junior"... Fox .29 or .35 for the S1... all nice strong engines.
You make it sound real inviting... I am a musician, and play in a HOT "Southern Rock" cover-band named StilBurnin'... We've got a gig that Sat. night (the 5th). We opened for "Marshall Tucker" on Aug. 11th @ "Indian Ranch" in Webster, MA. I play piano/organ and sing back-up vocals. (my other hobby...)
I'll be "with you" in spirit!!!

The Ringmaster Fly-athon is world-wide on that weekend. Wherever you are, fly your Ringmasters. The number of flights you made can be reported, to try to surpass last year's total of 1689 individual flights made. So, being separated by all of the land across America, should not prevent you from participating! The Brotherhood is waiting...

Is it for all Ringmasters? Or just Kania designs?

You can use any Ringmaster you have. I just built a coroplast model for the beginners at the Chehalis Flyathon. Here's a link the Stunthanger, the first post has the flyer.

I plan on dragging the S1 out as that would be fitting. Assuming it makes it out of OTS constest in one piece.
Failing that I will throw up a baby in the back yard.

I suppose I should get the fuse (and now tail too) re-glued on my baby ringmaster so I have a backup plane for the fly-a-thon. I haven't gotten air born with the super ringmaster yet.

That's the spirit guys. Dig out all the Ringmasters. It would be fun to see how many flights the CEF crew puts up together.

The Baby is repaired. Flowed some thin CA into the wing root joint and done. Swapped my spare baby stunt tank onto the engine that is on it, but it is a 1 bypass, no boost thin wall cylinder so it is far from hopped up.Cribbs74 wrote:Don't delay Phil! Get that bird airborne.

I need to find somewhere that knows how to mow or a large parking lot for the super.

Church buildings usually have a good amount of property associated to them so they have room to expand. Might be worth asking if you can use their land in between worship times.

I will look around some. I think one has enough space, but they have stuff going on almost every weekend and it is also a school.

Just a thought Phil, If there's an "industrial park" local to you; it would probably have no activity on a Sunday (or maybe even a Saturday)... Being an "industrially zoned" area... it shouldn't cause any residential concerns... (or spectator hazards) and a large company typically has a large parking area (maybe even a lawn). Light poles also may not be present in an industrial parking lot either. Of course; you would need to heed any trespass warnings that may be posted.pkrankow wrote:2 wordsCribbs74 wrote:Church buildings usually have a good amount of property associated to them so they have room to expand.
