I am the only person in a "Cox Engine Powered" T-shirt.  I was flying an Extra 330 on buddy box. Lots of fun and one of my best RC experiences to date.

From a distance I might mistake you for Phil. Maybe it's the shirt.

Phil, great pictures from the open house.

Thanks for bumping this one up! I really like it when we get pictures of CEF family meeting each other around the world. I'd love to make a few road trips to meet CEF members.

Here is a pic of me at my local flying field here in Maryland with my Composite-ARF 2.3m (90" span) Extra 300L. The picture was taken back in 2010 after the maiden flight.

Re: Cox Engine Forum Family Photo Album

My Daughter 20+ years ago showing off some of "Daddy's" designs.

I flew a LOT back then.. at home in the side-yard. There was enough clearance between the house/shrubs, a stone wall and the edge of the woods for a 55 foot dia. circle. My lines were 23-25 foot Dacron. I clipped tree branches with my models more than once! I used to stake-down a 5 gal. pail-lid center-circle that I could feel with my foot, so I wouldn't wander too close to the house!

This is me (pic of a panoramic pic) back then (1992?) flying my "Pseudo-Fokker" biplane. (I've got a VHS format video of this flight somewhere..)

This is the airplane that I'm flying in the above photo.

Re: Cox Engine Forum Family Photo Album

Post  RknRusty on Sat Jan 31, 2015 11:27 pm

Thanks dudes. Here's a funny thing... for all of my life I could never fake a smile for the camera. I just can't fake any emotion. So I tried to just look casual and maybe just happy on the inside. But that's never what was in the photograph. My casual face is sort of intense, and looking and it makes me look mad or bored. People are going to look at those pictures in the future and say stuff like, Boy that ol Uncle Rusty musta sure been an ass hole Lol. The exception is video of me speaking or doing tech work back in the day.

But since I re-started playing with airplanes, and particularly joined clubs, to a lesser degree, forums... no offense, I've been able to genuinely grin at cameras. I sometimes have to ask someone to say somerhing funny. But it extends to situations that have nothing to do with any of my hobbies. I guess I better start using that whitening toothpaste. lol!

Ha! I kill me.*
