My Uncle Wayne asked if I knew what airplane this came from...and I didn't. SO...I figured to tap into the vast reserve of historical knowledge here! He's had it in his junk box for a long time, and finally remembered to bring it out on today's visit.

The mounting holes suggest a Wen Mac or Testors model, with the triangular edges slotting into a groove in a fuselage as with our PT-19's.

Anyway, here are some photo's...

To me it looks like the firewall from a McCoy/Testors RTF plane. Not too sure. Someone here will know.

Yep, thats what it is. i'm thinkin it's from the later, smaller Cosmic Wind plane, the same one Testors later sold to Cox and Tyco.

Wayne bought a Testors Cosmic Wind (a dismal disappointment flying-wise, but VERY colorful!). His was the red-orange version (I think), but that was a long time ago, and many assorted airplane carcasses have passes through his much-hallowed shop!

My Cox Cosmic Wind... sad little guy... so handsome... but his engine lives on in other more flight-worthy models! Hmmmm... maybe a powerful little "brushless" motor/timer would bring him back to life? The air-scoops are actually functional, and would help cool the battery! I could turn him into an elec. "speed" model!

Ron, you're too kind. Thank You my friend... I have probably 15-20 reedies currently in parts alone; in different-configuration back-plates/reed holders, tank mounts, needle valves, pistons (w/re-set rods), cylinders, crankcases........... all organized in clear compartment boxes...  (O.C.D. sickness...) I could put together an engine for it again... if I wanted.

This Cox "Little Tony" model powered by it's .049 reedie/5 x 4 prop, exhibited that "rock on a string" flight characteristic. It felt "HEAVY" on 25 ft. lines... when compared to a "same era/same power" Cox PT-19.

Hey... let's see just what it weighs "dry" w/o an engine...

(below) a nice little "timer-controlled" brushless could reside here, mounted to a modified stock prod. engine's back-plate... with battery located below the fuel tank; and cooled by the "functional" air-scoops... while spinning a 5 x 4 prop. over at more like 20-25K+ rpm. tongue

Maybe it would make a good test-bed for a compact timed-elec. system for my 1/2A U-control models?

Go big or go home. Batteries are heavy. Sadly I feel trying to convert a plane meant for smaller than .049 is a loosing battle.

I just picked up a KR governor timer from RSM distribution

I plan to convert a Jr. ringmaster to use the 1300mAh 3s batteries I already have.

I hope the prop adapter is not overlong

Brodak's site has a guide of sorts that lists out a variety of electric drive lines vs plan size which is how I ended up with this combination of parts, ultimately.
