Someone with knowledge on the Car engines?
I got this car engine off eBay for my collection. What I was wonderig is what it came out of? It's got a black crankcase and a red backplate. I've never seen a black crankcase before on the car engines. Anyone know what it came from?

Could be a put together engine from spare parts. With eBay you never know.

Cox 191-6
Hello, this is a Cox 191-6 Engine that was used in the Action van, Adam 12 car, Matador stocker and Sandblaster as Early as 1975. These Engines run very well and may have a little less Centrifigal "Drag" than the pull start engines. As far as the black anodized crankcase, someone could have done that along the way. Glen Bolton who worked for the Cox company told Me that Wen Mac was going to 'Sue" Cox for copying the "Pull Start" Design 049 engine found in the Earlier Car models so He Designed this "Snap Start" . He also Designed the Aluminum heat sink and a few other Ideas.
