Latest Cox model
I taught myself to fly after a few false starts with two models, a Q-Tee and an E-Z Bee. I still miss the E-Z Bee, so I went for another one. I bought this E-Z Bee a while ago, but one of the wings was damaged, so it stayed unfinished. I recently won an auction for a Cox Thermal Hawk with the sole intention of using the wing for this model, so I went ahead and finished up the plane today. I replaced the Babe Bee with a Golden Bee for some longer flight time. I also tacked on a piece of balsa trailing edge to extend the rudder a little bit. I may still add a little chord to the elevator.

Oops. Just realized this post should be moved to the Cox model airplane section, not the general modelling section.

Mark,
It probably could go either way, but I'll move it.

Re: Latest Cox model
Yep! SEVERE Nostalgia !!! These were some great training planes for guys wanting to test the waters and decide if they wanted to get into R/C!
I literally wore out two Cox Sportavia's (got the equivalent of another in "parts kits" waiting for attention!) and there wasn't anything more fun than watching them climb out in a Summertime Thermal !!!

Re: Latest Cox model
Welcome Greg! I'm sure you can find a few suggestions here on the site for a model to build. I personally am not familiar with a kit that meets those requirements, but I'm sure someone is.

Hi Greg, try this site... http://www.westwings.co.uk/toucan.htm it is the UK but they ship internationally.. the Toucan electric converts to nitro easily...I converted one for a TeeDee051. It has 2 channels for the elevator and rudder, and a third one for the throttle.
Another in the UK: http://www.densmodelsupplies.co.uk/index.php?b=&t=&c=radio_control&s=&p=centurion&pid=340
Another site in the US is here: http://www.selecthobbies.com/kitdata.htm Selecthobbies is in California as far as I remember and Steve sells a few quite nice Almost Ready to Fly R/C kits
