It's been over a month since I have had any air time and even longer for 1/2A!

The wife took the kids to the movies and before the truck left the driveway I was setting up in the mini field. I had attempted to fly 3 days ago when it was hovering around freezing and I could not get the engine to run for anything. I flipped for over a 1/2 hour before I figured I had better just go through the engine. Nothing was wrong so I chalked it up to the cold.

Today my suspicions were confirmed as it was 56 degrees and the darn thing fired of and kept running first flip... Rolling Eyes  so now I know that bladders do not like cold temps.

Anyway flying was great and the Baby Clown did everything I asked it to and some things that I didn't when the wind changed direction. Loving that APC 6x2! Before that stupid Elm leaves out in spring I am going to hack off some major limbs so I can run my lines out a little further. The way things are now I keep the plane high while flying. While this makes it safer for the plane it does nothing for stunt practice. It also makes stunt placement tricky as I have to dive down to begin V8's. If not my tops are almost behind my head.

Anyway, dirty pics!

Great, sounds like you got what's good for every man's soul from time to time, a nice romp in the grass with a hot slippery  and unpredictable companion. Glad to hear it.

And I love those APC 6x2s too for my small field, now that I can consistently not break them. When I first tried APCs, I almost gave up, because I'd break it about every time. The other day when my son and I were flying, I lost one of my brass bushings. I'm kicking myself over that. I still have two, but there was a torrential rain as we were leaving and I never got to search for it.

I really need to get some of those brass inserts. Sorry you lost one.

Here's the link on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/APC-Prop-Bushing-for-1-2-A-Props-Brass-Propeller-Bushing-Buy-5-get-the-6th-FREE-/310835229891?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item485f3934c3 right now for those bushings. I sent my prototype to him and he makes them now. These will work in the other APC props that have the larger hole as well. You just need to insert the bushing into the plastic bushing that comes with the APC props and it will fit. I designed this bushing for one particular reason. When flying 1/2A combat, I couldn't be fiddling with fuel tubing or whatever. I need to get the prop off and quickly on. I initially made these with my friend Dan. I just couldn't keep up with all that wanted some of these and Mike the seller on Ebay has been making them ever since. Ken

Excellent, thanks. I like the no fiddle prop swap too.

Ron,

man, that baby clown turned out nice, I've got the plan's for it. I might have to build one down the line. Looks like you made flap's for it. Right??
Glad to see you got some flying in.
