The OS 46FX is what my Magnum is powered with. I'd never heard of this one till now. A converted RC engine I presume, and I think it's an older ball bearing model. It has the squarish cylinder and a CL NV with a black plastic venturi.
Just wondering if anyone knows interesting details about this one. I have a 12x6 prop on it now and an assortment of 11" and 12" props came with it too. Will and Wayne seem thrilled with how the plane flies like it is, so I'll try the 12x6 first. We're headed out in the morning to give it a rip. After this, it'll probably stay in the hangar for repairs to prevent some bare wood on the nose from deteriorating. The stab needs realigning, lots of little details to bring it back to top shape. Still looks like a good strong airframe.
In preparation for going up to Joe Nall on Saturday and bringing it home, I spent some time with a tape measure walking around our two cars. Mine is a '02 Mazda P5 hatchback, and hers is a, '08 VW Passat sedan. I finally decided on mine, figuring out a fairly complex arrangement of maneuvers to get it in. It worked and I got it home.

Wish I could help with the engine. I am lost after FP's.
Glad you were able to get it home! Is the exposed wood bare? I would at least put some covering on it before it flies. It doesn't take long for it to soak up oil and after that covering won't stick!
You will have to take some video of your maiden.
Why no smile in the photo? I would be all grins holding that thing. Maybe that's your bad to the bone stance?

I'm smiling on the inside.
I have the hardest time smiling for a photo, even when I'm in a great mood. When I'm long gone, everyone is going to look at old pictures and think I was always grumpy. I usually smile at first and then the photographer fools around while it fades. I've probably smiled more since I've been having pictures of me and my CL adventures than ever before. My CL buddies are always clowning and making me laugh so I look happy. Believe me, I was happy, however exhausted from a long day. I have the camera charged and ready to document the flight of the Magnum.

Hey Buddy,
Nice plane and congrats on your last contest! I'd post on Stuka Stunt or Stunt Hanger , but the FX is a high revving motor and needs to turn, I'd lean toward a lower pitch then a 12x6.
Sorry, I've been busy with work, yard work and of course disc golf. I've surf thru the web site a couple times but seems I'm too tired or don't have time to post, i did see your last contest results. Good luck at the Joe Nall contest!
p.s. years ago i had a Ford Escort Wagon, basically a Mazda and transported my Cardinal facing backwards with the wing tips on top of the rear shock towers with foam pads under the wings.
