The factory specs on the Fuji 099's (with Enya 09 for comparison) are as follows:
Engine | Bore x Stroke | Displ cc | Comp Ratio | CL oz | RC oz | CL hp | RC hp | CL rpm | RC rpm | CL prop | RC prop | FF prop |
Fuji 099S-II | 12.7x12.7 | 1.60 | 5.5:1 | 4.0 | 4.3 | 0.22 | 0.16 | 11000-14000 | 2500-12500 | 7x5 | 7x5 | 7x4 |
Enya 09-III | 13.0x12.2 | 1.62 | 7.5:1 | 3.4 | 4.1 | 0.20 | 0.16 | 9000-16000 | 2500-13000 | 7~8x6~4 | 8x4~3 | 7~8x4~3 |
Fuji 099SR | 13.6x12.36 | 1.79 | 7.7:1 | 4.1 | 4.6 | 0.28 | 0.22 | 15000-17000 | 2500-16000 | 8x5 | 8x5 | 8x4 |
The liner is a mirror image of the Enya. The Enya is a really nice engine, swinging a variety of props. I have found it does very well with a 7x6 wood prop, doesn't seem to like the plastics. I imagine the Fuji's lower compression means that it was intended to run on higher nitro fuel, like that for Cox .049's (25% nitro versus lower for the Enya). If one is not into pure power and coupled with the right airframe, the Fuji 099S-II seems to be a good sport engine. The 099SR is actually .11 in displacement. I am told that the 099SR is decent engine, very powerful.
Similar to the Enya, I imagine the power/torque curves peak out at a lower RPM. Peter Chinn's comments about the Enya 09-III TV is that there was no advantage to running props smaller than 7x4.
One thing I haven't tried is running the Fuji with a larger diameter prop. The lower compression reminds me of the Cox .049 Texaco. Break-in prop is listed as an 8x3. Unfortunately, the 8x3 is a hard to find prop. I haven't check to see if the Fuji will run with a 7x6 wood prop, producing more thrust than the 7x5.

Re: Fuji 099 SR
As far as I can tell, most of which was gleaned from this
http://www.modelenginenews.org/ad/fuji_ch1.html
There were 18 versions of the Fuji 099 including the SR produced and developed over 25 years or so.

Yes, I remember reading from that website some time back when I was interested in knowing more about the Fuji .099's. Still wish I had my older twin port Fuji 099 on a 33" span Midwest profile P-63 King Cobra CL stunt job.
Prior to a year ago, I didn't know that my reasons for not being able to successfully run my ABC 099S-II was my use of plastic props. Those have too much inertia even for my Enya 09-III TV's. These engines run best on lower inertia wood props.
The advantage to ABC is being able to run with the modern fuels that have a slightly lower oil content. I have one 099 slated for a Hobby Lobby Miss Stik 55" (1,400mm) wingspan electric park flier. The other is slated for a House of Balsa 2x2 two meter glider. There, they should do a lot of good. With muffler the engine is a heavy bugger so it is best used in planes that have a short coupled nose moment, or follow modern 3D practice and mount servos in the tail to compensate.
