Re: TD .010 airbleed carburetor
Happy 4th folks.
Nice engine Jason.
I was looking at this being sold by Tim.
I ended up buying Tim's GMark .030 has a small carb good for the TD .020. and muffler is doable with a .020.
The TD .010 shown in your pics is really getting small! There is a drawing floating around of a diy carb for the .010Maybe a Dave Robelin design for those who want to fab one up.
Let us know how it runs. I have made 4 throttle sleeves for the .010's and can get good rpm 28k ish with a 2.8 x 2 prop.

Re: TD .010 airbleed carburetor
That is a new one to me. Here I thought I'd seen it all. Good find Jason!
Eric,
The .010 usually comes in CL form. For RC applications one had to buy or build an exhaust throttle sleeve. An actual carb to adjust throttle is a rare find indeed.

Eric,
I could be wrong, but when the throttle valve closes the air is drawn through the tiny airbleed hole

Re: TD .010 airbleed carburetor
Here's what most of us can hope for a sleeved TD .010 otherwise the next chance is to source a G-Mark .030 carbed engine if you want an RC throttled engine this way. Otherwise there are a handful of rare diesel engines that was made in limited numbers you could fab their carbs to the TD. The ones I have seen didnt have a air bleed adjustment. He has a very rare carb!

Re: TD .010 airbleed carburetor
Cribbs is correct the carb barrel is adjusted to be almost or closed and only air can enter through the bleed hole which in this case has a adjustment screw to fine tune the opening to get the very lowest idle possible.
This carb is soooo small it took great effort to make under a magnifying glass. Of course these days you could tool up er program up with a CNC machine and cut out the body with ease.
