Some screaming string darts are gonna fly!

Some screaming string darts are gonna fly!
We're having our MCLS meeting up at Duck's house, Col. James Duckworth in Stanley, NC. Wayne says Duck has a real museum that I'll like because of all the 1/2A planes in it. And it's a flying meeting/picnic. I'm told it's best to bring something to hand launch so tomorrow is going to be 1/2A day for me. I put the engine back on the Lil Satan and fixed up my Norvel powered Baby Streak. I almost forgot what to take for a 1/2A day. I need a different box for those. I'm excited now, I'll be dreaming of flying string darts on 35% nitro. I'll get some videos. Haven't gotten any of these planes in a long time. I hope I can still keep up with them.I did put the missing nose weight back on the Satan. I tried to fly the Traveling engine without it, but that was a mistake.

Re: Some screaming string darts are gonna fly!
Whew, finally home. Boy I'm tired too. It was a 2 hour drive each way, and 95 degrees with no clouds. I got there and saw they had a big coreplast(sp?) runway set up so all kinds of planes were flying. No I didn't take the Mustang because even though it's a "Speed" plane it still ain't half as fast as my Li'l Satan or my Big Mig Baby Streak, and it only flies in circles.
And there was NO wind! I only got a few flights but I made them count. And I wondered how my fast 1/2A flying would be after flying big ol' lumbering 55 mph stunters... Ten times better, I'm happy and surprised to say. I have apparently learned the advantage of the artful use of delicate control inputs. Rather than yanking the planes around, banging corners, I put them where I wanted quick and safe without stalling the elevator and overloading the wing. I ripped off a couple of crowd pleasers, I sure love an audience. And now I remember why I love 1/2A so much... not! I hadn't forgotten, but they sure are a blast. It was so calm I could fly on my 45' lines. On every flight I packed a full ounce in the Norvel's bladder and an ounce and a half in the Tee Dee powered Li'l Satan, both fly about the same time, however long that is. A loooooong time. Once I sat on the ground with the Streak and flew about 20 lazy 8s and inside and outside loops. When it burped I jumped up and flew it out. In the mown hay fields all landings were nose flippers.
The camera stayed in the car and I forgot completely about it, sorry, but I will make good on my promise. I think there are pictures I haven't seen yet but I'll post them when I get them. And if the church clears out, I'll make a video over there tomorrow.
Eric, I was in Stanley, NC. How far is that from Julian? You could have come.
Anyway that's about it. Next month's meeting will be at Triple Tree Aerodrome, the Joe Nall home. Our 1/2A day has been postponed until November 22 in Huntersville.
Anyway that's about it for my flight report. This boy is whipped. Sorry I can't even read all of y'all's posts tonight.

EDIT: getting pictures off Holley's phone. They will be up in a few minutes.
