Got cool new stuff for my shop!
This has been a rich couple of weeks, kinda like Christmas in the Summer. In addition to my new B&D Workmate I featured in my Skyray thread, today brought unexpected new bounty too. This morning I'm reclining in the dialysis clinic mostly dozing when the clinical director comes up and nudges me awake in her heavy Caribbean voice, Mista Knowlton, you still wan dat tool ting? Huh, what...? You know, de tool ting we gon' chrow it aweh if you don want it. Uh, can you remind me what it was? De beeg squah box o drawahs we use ta keep da supplies in. DING! Oh yeah I forgot about dat... that. So you're finally ready to toss it?
Now I remember. About 8 months ago I heard they going to replace their roll around supply cabinets and throw away the old ones, and i told her I'd be glad if she threw one my way. So to make the story short, I returned later with my wife to help me load it in the car, brought it home and cleaned it up and now I have yet another thing i have always wanted!
A way to get my tools off of random shelves, the floor and out of rust's way.
A Craftsman Quiet Glide rolling tool chest. My portable 150lb Craftsman Tool chest that I can't pick up anymore will look great on top of it, and my massive collection of ratchets, wrenches, hammers, pliers, pryers, chisles, pullers, putters, whangers, bangers, twisters and straighteners finally have a home!
It was pretty cruddy looking. Some surface rust, a mile of ancient pieces of paper tape and gawd knows what smeared on it. I needed a shower just from looking at it. And the bottom drawer wouldn't close. I finally went to google how to release the drawer. When I got back to the shop, Holley had already figured it out. Anyway, a steel brush and scraper, a sack of rags and a can of WD-40 later I had it all cleaned up. The reason the drawer wouldn't close...
Dialysis supplies. Line sets, needles, syringes, diaphragms, clamps, all kinds of crud. And the keys to the cabinet were all under there.
So forgive me for abandoning the Skyray for tonight. After I get my cabinet all tooled up tomorrow, I'll get back to it.

That's GREAT Rusty! I wish I had a roll-around box of drawers. When I got layed-off from the machine shop last year.. the owner told me to take the small "Kennedy" box he'd given me to use.

Cool Score Rusty! I used to have one of those big Strap-On uh I mean Snap-On tool boxes but I sold it when I got out of the Automotive field back in 2007, paid off the Snap-On man and I got a used but well taken care of and much cheaper Craftsman 2 pc. roll away. They are nice boxes and easy to move around.
