I want to know. I also want to know what kind of gullible fool he is trying to sell it at that price.
He'd be pretty lucky if he could get $50 for a pee wee.

Fifty bucks? Surely it would be higher. After all, he took it out of the package and meticulously put it back, staples and all.

Thats the top end I see .020s going for on feebay. He would be super lucky to get $60, that doesn't happen very often. Granted, you don't see too many of those NIP, but the collectors want the tee dee version of the .020 and the .010.

Sorry, I was being sarcastic. I kinda have a hard time swallowing NIP when he stapled it back closed.

I counted five staples on that NIP Pee Wee. If he let's it go for much less than $450, he won't be able to recover the cost of the staples. If I remember correctly that particular engine started at $850.

Yes,last month's price was 850, if he cut down to 220, and then 110, and then.............

Re: Holy Cow! He dropped the price!
It's a Pee Wee RC, which is worth more than a regular Pee Wee.
We listed one like that (in original packaging) on this forum last week for $139 and it sold within hours, together with all the other 010 and 020 engines we listed.
The interesting part is that the fellow quotes me in his listing. But then, I am not sure where he gets his price expectations from. After all, there were probably at least 10,000 of the little beasts made.

Same here. Besides, how hard would it be to make throttle sleeve? Wouldn't a piece of copper tubing that properly fits over the cylinder with exhaust slits work?

Re: Holy Cow! He dropped the price!
The value of the engine lies primarily in its collector value. They generally sell in the $100 to $150 range if new and in OEM packaging.
Re: Holy Cow! He dropped the price!
I contacted him when he first listed it at $850 and he claimed he called Bernie to get info and he said he was told it was extremely rare so that's what he thought such a rare item would be worth. I posted something about this earlier this year, but can't find the post.

Re: Holy Cow! He dropped the price!
I told him that the Pee Wee RC was produced in relatively small quantities compared to, say, Babe Bee; with a total production of around 10,000 to 20,000 engines. He even states that in his description but I can assure that would never have suggested a retail price beyond $150 or so.
