I came across this during a search today. This is a scaled down version of the larger 39" w/s version Nemesis II designed by Howard Rush. This smaller version was designed by Steve Fauble... and has a 25" w/s for Tee Dee power.. and also looks to have an option for a reed-valve mounting. I really like it.. and thought I'd share some limited (sorry) info with you guys here. I figured that Ken Cook might have some knowledge of the larger model.. or maybe even both.

This is the full-size airplane that it was scaled down from.

Re: 1/2A Nemesis c/l combat wing
I think my uncle had that same ST .35 (shown on the Nemesis II pic) on the old Veco Renegade he gave me a few months ago.
Re: 1/2A Nemesis c/l combat wing
I will say this, nothing flies like the Nemesis. Most of your updated wings use the Nemesis airfoil. Howard has quite a sense of humor. In my opinion, this would be an awesome combination. The 1/2A Matador is also one of my favorites designed by Rich Lopez. Tomorrow Sun the 7th is vintage combat in New Jersey. Last year we had a fellow show up with a beautiful Nemesis. These are great looking and good flying designs. Ken

Howard is a great guy. I'm guessing he's back from the World Champ. by now. He's a member of the CL club (Skyraiders) that my boys and I are in.
Anyone have a pdf of those drawings?

Aak! Don't use the blow up!
I'm sure you will figure it out though. I have to ask though why store the pears upside down? Is that a trick for sealing or is it to keep them from browning up top?
Ron

Maybe they're more photogenic that way.
Eric you've developed a pear following. It's good to be friends with a country boy! Actually my wife is a full fledged farm girl.

Super Cool ...... Quote
Ah someone remembers one of my designs. I do not have a full size plan but should be able to scan the magazine page if that would work. It did fly well but tended to come out tail heavy. It was a 66% reduction of the full size one if that is of any help. Do not try 1/32 ply booms, they will break. ............... We are in the loop Eric

info from the designer
You are making me dredge up info from the distant past. The wing was 24" with out the tips, but I think it could be bigger and fly better. I think I would try a 29" span + tips sized one with what we know now. The model with the tank mounted engine should be just fine at the original 24" +tips. I am trying to get a good PDF scan to the Eric so you guys can use Adobe 10 to make a good full scale plan.

Hi there, If you are in fact; fai"F" as in Steve "F"uable... I'd be very interested via a "PM".. to know more about the construction of the 24" version. Thanks
Re: 1/2A Nemesis c/l combat wing
We're all interested, don't do it via PM, PLEASE!

Re: 1/2A Nemesis c/l combat wing
Roddie you might be right, but "FAI F2d" is also the designation for competitive international combat. FAI F2b is international aerobatics, FAI F2c is team racing.roddie wrote:faif2d wrote:You are making me dredge up info from the distant past. 1/2A Nemesis
As I said in my PM the tank mounted engine version fly's very nicely as drawn. For a good Tee Dee I would go to or try one with a wingspan of 27 or 29 in span with out tips. What we know now is that we were building to small back then. I would epoxy up some 3/8" plywood in place of the 1/4" as shown. The 1/4 works but gets loose after 20 or so flights. You will need nose weight anyway so you might as well make it do something useful. Sill waiting for someone to send me their e-mail via PM so I can get my PDF file to someone. It is to big to attach here or at hip pocket.
