Eric, not a good practice. This will just trap excess gas under the covering and makes a lot of bubbles. Even the so called additional fuel proofing clears like Black Baron Balsarite, Sig Stix-it, makes a bit of a mess under the covering. It adds additional weight and it's just not needed. Ken

A good fuelproof joint at the wing root is the best thing you can do to keep it from drinking fuel and oil.
