I have four of the early type wens that I would like to clean up and run. I usualy only work with the later types that use a glow head. The question is what kind and thickness gaskets are you useing on the sleeve and the head? Also what plug have you found to work the best?
Thanks, Phil

The early Wen-Macs used a "fiber" gasket between the cylinder and the aluminum head, it's hard to measure exact, but about .030 is pretty close and the fiber gasket on the bottom of cylinder, between case is about .015.
I don't know who sells gaskets, but you can make them out of gray automotive carburetor gasket material. Usually a hot plug works best, for fuel use a high percentage oil (22-28%) preferably all caster, if not and your turning some high revs with small props expect these babies to wear fast!

good luck

Phil.
Bill Schmidt (Wen Mac Bill) sells gaskets to suit. bschmidt08@hotmail.com
He also has a lot of information about getting them running well. If you PM me your email address (private message- where it says "PM" under my picture on the left) I will forward some documents to you which Bill sent me.

Rod.
