Wen Mac RAF Day Fighter

Wen Mac RAF Day Fighter
A P-63/P-39 by any other name.
These just keep following me. Gotta stop buying plastic airplanes and get me some balsa models built. But, this RAF Day Fighter completes the series that Wen Mac produced using this design.
Pretty cheap at around $43.00, but the seller loaded the back end shipping at $27.00. I'm not a big fan of that as shipping usually runs around $12-$16.
Looks to be the best condition of the four that I now have, and it supposedly has an ejectable pilot that parachutes to the ground. We shall see.
I have just about finished the “partzer” that needed a lot of attention. I bought it without a motor, bell crank, operating rod, propeller, spinner, and belly pan. Thanks to our mutual friend, I now have enough items to complete it.
I had to construct the belly pan out of bass wood and a dowel for the pylon. Turned out ok but no cigar. Spray painted it olive drab to match but when I attempted to clear coat it with luster coat.. it wouldn't spray. Old can bought at LHS must have sat on the shelf forever and it had no go left in it.

I lose more than I win too. This one would have been cheaper but someone tried to snipe it with four seconds left. Too bad that he bid just under my proxy.
I found out why the excessive (IMO), shipping. He ships UPS.
