Re: 2 engine questions
A Tee Dee .051 piston will have a ring around the bottom. It can be seen through the exhaust opening if you bring the piston up near top dead center.

Re: 2 engine questions
Both the above points are correct. Just keep in mind apart from the color of the carb body and the ring around the piston skirt they are identical.
I say this as it's easy to swap parts around. Look for both the ring and the carb body color. From a glance though the carb body color is a dead give away.
The one in the picture you posted appears to be an .051, to be sure though you would have to remove the muffler and look for the "ring around the skirt"

Should also have a 5 stamped in the exhaust port flat.

Re: 2 engine questions
Another thing, if it has the TD P/C set, I would take the muffler off anyway if it has SPI the muffler will choke it out. It will run but will have little power. (Bandit)

Re: 2 engine questions
It looked like it had a ring around the bottom of the piston but it had a 4 stamped on the exhaust port

Re: 2 engine questions
If its a 4 that's the .049 the .051 piston would not fit in a #4 the #5 is the TD cylinder set with a slightly larger bore. Here's a pic of my 051 showing the ring on the piston skirt. Hope this helps (Bandit)akjgardner wrote:It looked like it had a ring around the bottom of the piston but it had a 4 stamped on the exhaust port
