If you put an Estes rocket motor in it.. could it still be considered a Cox engine?
(ouch.. stop throwing things at me!)
Kidding aside.. whittle-down a hardwood dowel-plug to fit inside the cone. You got a table saw? Slot the dowel for the fin, before you cut it to length. Once you get a snug fit; cut a piece of 1/4" plywood for a new firewall and glue it to the plug. Glue the plug into the cone. Retain with a sheet-metal screw through the cowl.. just in case.
With a new firewall.. you'll have the option of running any radial mount reedie on there.. like a Killer Bee for instance..

The guy with the spare parts has this one for sale.
Ebay Prop Rod
Not bad for someone looking to get into this stuff. Once again, I can't even consider it with the international postage cost.

Rod: Is there a tariff on gifts? If I was to visit Aussie land and forget my prop rod, would anyone get into trouble? Also can I carry RC gear in and out easily. I want to visit Ekitten2 some day, as well as who ever else is in the flight path and the Barrier Reef of course.
that would make me a VERY happy happydad

I don't think the government worries about anything under $1,000 AUD. The R/C gear coming through customs may attract attention, so make sure you conceal your contraband somewhere else

Are you talking about the water wizard? "The nautical is in a lot better shape than mine and the price was about the same"?
P.s. There is a guy who used to sell on eBay who has his own website and sells the engine pod/nacelle for about $19.00. When I switch to the PC I will post his address.

Cox Prop Rod and Shrike engine pod/nacelle
All: I found an old sale for an engine pod/nacelle and I sent the seller an ebaymail and he resonded that he " MAKES A REPRODUCTION POD FOR THE PROP ROD. THEY COST $18.50EA. + SHIP
THANKS www.wedoplastics.com JOHN"
also another seller of several reproduction items for cox cars, boats, etc. responded "I wont have any for a few weeks, making a new mold. For information on parts, call MON-SAT, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Pacific Time) NO SUNDAY CALLS, THANKS! 714-840-7239 Chris"
2 sources for the engine pod. I think the second one is redvenomrepros (13628) on ebay and the engine pod/nacelle is $19.00, but it may be the $24.00 GUY.
There it is. happydad
