Good for you, nice buy. I like mine too. It was missing some parts, pilot, canopy pieces but found them. It was kind of a fiddle to put back together though. I needed a third hand and a third eye.

I'll be looking for parts, I'll keep an eye out for red pilots and yellow spinner. EX Model Engines has the stickers.

Re: Tickled pink with my new black stuka
Stuka trivia: does anybody know if the wing with the "fixed" landing gear will fit a fuse of the model with the "removable" screw mounted landing gear on the wing?
Reason I'm asking is my wing with removable LG is cracked. I've seen replacement wings with the fixed LG at cheaper prices, but was not sure they would fit.
Complete canopy went for over$162.00. vintage cox thimble drome stuka parts NOS

Re: Tickled pink with my new black stuka
That could be a doner plane but the wing looks cracked also, many have damaged wings from hard landings.

Haa! Haa! I can relate to that, for the most part my wife is fine with my little mid-life crisis hobby of collecting nitro toys but I'm running out of places to put (hide) stuff.
Hell it could be worse, some guys need motorcycles, Corvettes and airplanes!!

Re: Tickled pink with my new black stuka
Seems to me its usually the other way around, the fixed gear wing, older and slightly more uncommon will sell for more than the later bolt-on gear version.
I'm thinking they're interchangeable.

Re: Tickled pink with my new black stuka
Wow! I can see why you need three hands for assembly, guess Ill be finding out soon.
I notice some fuel tanks have two filler tube and some have one?

Re: Tickled pink with my new black stuka
to answer your question. Yes the wings are interchangeable. I just tried the style without the screws and it fit just fineMarleysky wrote:Stuka trivia: does anybody know if the wing with the "fixed" landing gear will fit a fuse of the model with the "removable" screw mounted landing gear on the wing?

Re: Tickled pink with my new black stuka
YOU NO JOKIN MON !!! Got the green Stuka today and what a pain just to dissemble!!! Much worse condition than I thought, front windscreen glued to body,
crack in right fuse half, spinner damaged, antenna glued and broken off means I need windscreen part and antenna. No bomb.
If anyone has parts I'm in the market, everything turns up on eBay sooner or later.

Sorry to hear that its worse than you expected. Sometimes its a roll of the dice on eBay. I've got almost all my parts for mine thanks to a generous member here that wishes to remain anonymous. I will keep an eye out for the parts you need....Joe

Re: Tickled pink with my new black stuka
One thing that drew me to this listing was the box, pretty good shape for 55 + - years old. Even the cellophane is good. It needs a cleaning, anyone know how to clean and preserve paper?
Drop your bomb here LOL, HaHa
A little over the top for aerobatics, no wonder so many crashed

Re: Tickled pink with my new black stuka
you might try taking a prop stud and spinner nut and attach spinner in a drill, wet sand and buff with Brasso, just don't get it hot.
