A TDBandit Milestone!!
If you guys have missed TDBandit on here , you should know that his hard drive crashed and he hasn't had a way to post. He will get it fixed soon. In the meantime, we have had many excellent flying sessions, and today I finally got him flying inverted! After the first time he was flying inverted the rest of the day, his P-40 and my Ringmaster. We both had a blast. Here is some kinda crummy video

Awright, good work guys! Practice a few of all the different ways of doing loops and he can come up and fly in Beginner Stunt at the Carolina Classic. April 29, 30 and May 1st. I'll put a flyer in the newsletter which I'm doing this weekend. We need Combat, Carrier and Stunt pilots to fill out the crowd!

Re: A TDBandit Milestone!!
Thats awesome TD!! Great videos Bill! I remember teaching myself to fly inverted. I kept extending the middle portion of a lazy eight till I fonally got all the way around a full lap. To this day I continue to hold the handle horizontal when inverted. I clearly remember my first complete laps inverted .... its disconcerting to go in a clockwise direction.

Re: A TDBandit Milestone!!
Bill, Dave says you can fly the full patern. Intermediate is really beginners who know the pattern, and you can have a caller in the circle with you. Last October I called for the guy who beat me out of first place. It's really laid back friendly atmosphere. The most fun event for me is Saturday's Profile event. No classes, so experts and beginners all fly together, and it's a real blast. You get to meet and fly with some of the best. No real chance of winning for guys like us, and that alone relieves all the pressure.
PAMPA Stunt for all 4 classes is early Sunday morning so you might still be half asleep when your turn comes. Some guys enter that don't know the pattern very well, all the way up to some pretty good pilots. Unfortunately not very many enter the two lower classes, so we need all we can get. That's when the Combat guys give it a go, because they're still busy with Speed Limit on Saturday. We usually combine beginner and Intermediate on the same grass circle just to move it along and finish early. It's not unusual to have Beginners that don't fly inverted yet, but just do it to get the feel of how to go theough the routine. Come on up, it's the most fun thing I think I've done in my adult life.

Re: A TDBandit Milestone!!
Congrats Bandit! Glad you got the computer trouble fixed. Good of Bill to help.. and fill us in. I haven't flown in sOoOo many years.. I don't know how soon I'd try inverted-flight again. I only have one airplane that I ever flew inverted. I'll never forget the first time. It was a 1/2A model that I designed.. and had flown enough times to take a chance with. Someone here used to have a quote that read; "while flying inverted.. down is up.. and up is real expensive"!
