Watch out for the lines!

Watch out for the lines!
Another Roddie idea.. (humor me please..) I'd like to see someone invent a laser-marker to project a beam between the model and the handle.. temporarily illuminating the path in-between.. flashing perhaps for higher visibility?
It might be an expensive instrument.. if it was even doable.. but a club could spread the cost between it's members.
Your thoughts...?

It might work well at dusk or dawn, but anytime in between it would be invisible. Very rarely do flyers walk across lines. If they do they go slow and pay attention. It's the average Joe spectator that walks through lines and not many of those guys around.

Fluro lines would be a lot less expensive. Not sure that I understand your reasoning! Is it as Ron suggests to prevent people tripping over your lines? I'd say fly where it's less crowded.

My other hobby is surf fishing. Using high visibility lines in yellow or orange, helps me keep the line off the reefs in the surf. Using Polaroid sunglasses makes the line stand out no matter if its sunny or over cast. Same benefit to fliers. Others wearing sunglasses would benefit from this even spectators. After all the more the merrier Most of the time though it's kids on bikes that are curious and end up running over the lines with their bikes.

Yea.. it would be for marking the lines so people are aware of them. A dumb idea I guess.. but I appreciate the input. High-vis. lines are great.. but not everyone uses them.

My buddy and I use those little flags that construction workmen often use to lay out their work zones to mark our lines so that passersby might have a better chance seeing them.

Something like fluorescent "flagging-tape" tied to a couple of "spikes" stuck in the grass for 3/4 the line-length, wouldn't snag the lines on landing. Tie a strip on a pole for a wind-indicator too!
