It all hit on the same day. My spare props and new replaceable-battery glow igniter. That's all I need before contest time. I think it's the first time I haven't been rushing about tying to get everything in place. But best of all a surprise. My friend John Tate of the Norfolk, VA Aeromodelers asked me for my address last week. He'd been reading at Stunthangar about my Oriental's fp.40 runaway problem. He sent me an fp.40 that's been reworked for a stunt run. It feels really sweet just flipping it over.

I hope to get some test flying done, just waiting on the weather so I can get out to test and tune, get my fuel metered and launch RPMs figured out.

I need a day to do that, and it would be nice to have another one to just fly and think of nothing but my shapes and turns. So if the head-work Bob did on my old fp is satisfactory... and it seems to be, I'll keep it in the plane, but I'd really like an excuse to try this new one.

And for anyone who's wondering about the Twister project, well I've been prepping the stab and elevator for paint. Sanding sealer, sanding, silkspanning, sanding... and so on. It's getting there, just at a dull stage in the process.
This picture doesn't betray all the work that goes into it.

I like the way that turned down head looks. It would work perfectly on the Twister if you don't put it on the Oriental.

That is one SWEET looking engine like Cribbs said the turned down head couture is nice ! Is the intake of another style also ? You can always test stand it just for the sound and fun run , although I know that don't tell you a lot compaired to flying and performance . Nice haul always more fun to go to the mail box when you get new toys! Eric bounce
