Oh what a Gas(er)! Just the polar opposite of the first group that started at $1000. This one starts out at a reasonable $50each plus shipping, reserve not met, we'll see what the market will bring for these 3 rare racers.

Re: Hasbro "the Great Gassers"
my bad (really bad.. ) for not following-up on Bill Steklenski's lead on some "Gassers" that were available, local to me. The "sticky-note" is still on my workbench..
Re: Hasbro "the Great Gassers"
Bids almost ending. Figured I would give someone a deal. All they need is the dust wiped off them. And I found a fourth one in storage. Missing a wheel though.

Hasbro Gassers
Hello Bill, A friend of mine from Rhode island had many Engines for these Cars and sold them thru the MECA Swapsheet. Coincidentally I just touched base with a Old friend from the club and He has a new red colored one I am looking to Buy, which I want to carefully start it and run it. As we Blast in to the Future with all these Online trading websites and less Swap Meets the prices seem to be Disrespectful to the Hobby but I am looking to start collecting again and Eventually the prices will have to start dropping off. Bill Steklenski.

Re: Hasbro "the Great Gassers"
I am posting for fellow CEF member Bill Steklenski. Bill had purchased a "Great Gassers" car this past September.. and asked me to post a photo of it here on the forum.
Here it is..
It's the only image that he's sent me so far.. but the car looks to be in A1 condition.
Note that deceased CEF member GWILLIEFOX (Bill Mohrbacker) had shown interest in this thread. We miss you Bill.

Re: Hasbro "the Great Gassers"
Quite a few members of the model engine collectors association has passed but we will all continue with The Hobby, there's still a ton of gas powered models out there it's just a matter of finding them and getting them for the right price. This Hasbro car is very primitive I do remember seeing a photograph years ago where someone adapted a Venturi intake from a 010 or 020 engine, I had the engine on this car running probably a dozen times but it wouldn't stay running for more than a minute and the needle valve setup is very primitive. If I do purchase another one of these cars I would have a friend of mine and engineer adapt a real carburetion system to the engine but for now I'll stick with it trustworthy 049 powered cars.
