Kim,
Are you severely short tanking it? That is a crazy number of flights in a day. Are tou sgaring the circle or did you have several circles.

I only put in three 8 min flights, pretty embarrassing.

439 flights over three days probably exceeds my lifetime total R/C and C/L combined. Kim gets the endurance award as well.
Your 24 minutes total for three flights embarrass my one minute total for the day. ……….But still, pretty high on the fun meter that I provided all of you guys with.

Hey Ron,
Leo put a 1/4oz tank on his S-1, along with a ply restrictor in the engine's venturi to act as a fixed throttle. He adjusted the size of the venturi 'till he had about the right speed for 38' lines, and got it to make about 6 laps on each tank full. The O.S. .20FP dutifully started on the first or second flip each time.
He had his own circle next to our regular one (red outline), and simply set into making flight after flight through the day. He went through four lap counters---Lloyd, Ronnie, Billy, and me over the two days, joking that, "It's supposed to be a Marathon, so I'm gonna make it a MARATHON!!!"
Leo is serious about his fun!!!

Re: RINGMASTER FLY-A-THON
Yesterday the Philly Fliers had their annual October Air Wars combat contest. After the contest seeing that all brought their Rings we put them up. Our Facebook page designer had to leave so we didn't get any video unfortunately. I put up two flights on my Ring with the 57 Fox Combat Special. I set it loose on 60% nitro and I have to say it was impressive. First, it held together and second, it lived to do it again. Doing so triples the noise they make to begin with. It was deafening. I launched as rich as I could get it to stay running. At the end of the flight it was indeed hauling the mail. One thing for certain, I had the fastest flight out of the bunch of us.

Nitro makes everything more fun. I like the needle valve guard on the marathon plane. I thought I read somewhere about minimum # of laps. 20, or 6. I searched again but could not find it. It would be great practise for pitting and spot landing. I never got out SNAFU. Had a big swap meet to go to, went on the wrong day, went the next day too... Some of the guys were out on the Saturday, and Naomi too. Over 70 flights at the Beanfield. It was pretty windy.

Leo put the "Rhinoceros Horn" (my name for it) on his Ringmaster after the O.S. quit inverted a couple times. He got it ironed out, but decided to leave the horn installed! An Official Flight just needs to be 5 laps.

Re: RINGMASTER FLY-A-THON
The 'rhino horn' is a great mod. It can substitute for a canopy where the rules demand it. I like the Fora type needles which stick out about 1/4". The problem with those is they won't open up far enough with a suction tank without falling out. I kind of hate bladders but need a few needle valves. I guess I will make up a few when I find some super fine taps and dies. Probably take a whole day to make a few. I suppose at $18 US it is almost cost effective. Our dollar is 1.37 so one an hour is $25. I think it is possible in an hour, but not like the Supertiger ones with the extra nut and slit. I have seen a pic of another needle valve guard made from sheet aluminum that bolts on the engine bearers and curves around the front of the needle. I will likely make a few of them when I run out of projects.
