CONTEST - CONTEST - CONTEST
Guess the weight of the 0.20 Pee Wee version of my tether airplane as pictured.
Rules:
Weight to be expressed in ounces to the second decimal place, example - 72.45oz
Entrants must have a minimum of 100 posts on the Cox Engine forum and be in good standing.
Guesses must be posted here on this thread and on no other. No PM's!
Contest ends at midnight Sunday 17 October.
Overseas members are eligible.
One guess per member. There should be no duplicates but if there are, the first guess is valid.
If no one guesses the exact weight the closest to it (over or under) wins.
Models' construction.
Wing - 13 1/2"
Fuselage - 14"
Overall length with pontoons - 16 1/2"
Wings and pontoons - White pine.
Fuselage - Luan (Lauan) Mahogany with hardwood separators
Wheels, horizontal/vertical stab and elevator - Luan
Misc: Epoxy, gel CA, piano wire, four Dubro hinges, sanding sealer, Krylon paints, 18 brass #2 screws.
Three Cox Pee Wee .020 engines - dry with Cox 4.5" propellers.
Winner receives A NIB .35 R/C Saturno Super Tigre engine, a year's subscription to Air Classics Magazine, and a NIB C/L Fox .15 engine.
Jacob exempts himself from these contests, so he gets a year's subscription to Air Classics. To allay fears of an inside track, I am excluding Rene from competing so he gets a years' subscription to Air Classics too.
Jacob (bless his heart ) will act as arbitrator in any dispute.
I would encourage everyone here to participate

Re: Contest - Contest - Contest
Let's see?
Cox engines with props ----- about 1 ounce each.
The wood ----- heavier than balsa ----- check
Wire ----- yep!
Glue and paint ----- on the heavy side just make sure it doesn't vibrate apart
final weight ----- 28.78 oz without fuel.
