Re: Cox Brushless
I believe there was someone on here some years back who made one of those "brushless .049s".
Re: Cox Brushless
Hi Levent,
I like the part, that the spring starter, is there...
I have an electro rig that swings a 6-4 like an average BabyBee.
Cannot shut it off. Windmills. Have to keep it on 'idle'...
Also,
It is more fun to fuel up/fire up a Cox engine...
Than waiting for batteries to charge,
On a nice flying day,
Take care,
Have fun,
Dave

Re: Cox Brushless
Nicely done glider, Levent and impressive flight, yours or a friend's? Didn't see your name in video credits, so perhaps something you found of interest from the Tube? Electric does have an advantage in a glider. Once one found a thermal or hillside updraft, can cut the motor completely until the lift ends, then turn power back on.
Usually an outrunner requires cooling to keep the armature wires from overheating. I'd be curious if the metal tank allows enough heat transfer that the electric motor doesn't burn up.
An innovative approach has been that of Nilly Willy use of a 3D printed Cox engine with nose modified to accommodate a small outrunner. That would allow for cooling.

I found that video on YouTube. There are two intake holes on front of fuel tank, I think that they are enough for cooling
