Cox Surestart throttles

Cox Surestart throttles
Come in two types: exhaust and backplate coversion.
I much prefer the later over the former.
Go to Bernie's site and check out SKU: THROTTL (sic)
The conversion attaches to the Surestart's plastic backplate with several provided screws. For $15 it's quite affordable as well as effective.
BTW, I also got a "Type B" head conversion built to lower engine idle to 6K RPM, Again this was from Bernie.

Re: Cox Surestart throttles
i have yet to try the backplate type it looks good and much more convinient.
Re: Cox Surestart throttles
They work great! Here are some photos of one I got from Bernie. The idle was smooth and dependable, and I probably could have taken it down a notch lower, but this setting was more than low enough to land and taxi "Little Traveler".
The top end could have been higher with a regular glowhead, but I wanted to fiddle with the adapter I'd just bought.

Everyone should note the non-standard head and glo in the pic. Bernie offers two types: "A" and "B" for different useages. They compliment performance of the throttle shown.
