Hi I have a new sure start, I have followed all the advice tryed the tank in different hieghts had the needle in every setting open from 21/2 turns to 4 with 1/4 settings between and all it does after priming is have a short burst then ossolate the prop and stop. It is obviously fuel I am using the right fuel and everything, how the heck do I get it to run. Other glow engines I have started are no problem. Can anywon help.

hm. this is usually a sign that the engines is running much too lean.
Could you please tell me what fuel compostion you are using?
Also, what size is your Battery that you use?

Not getting fuel
It is not getting fuel. Plugged fuel line? Dirty reed? Bad tank gasket?

My guess is a blocked fuel system somewhere along the line.Winston wrote:It is not getting fuel. Plugged fuel line? Dirty reed? Bad tank gasket?
Provabl some dirt in and around the reed valve.

Yeah, probably not getting fuel.
Here's a manual that should run you through the entire starting procedure.

If you haven't already, take the whole thing apart and clean it. There could be dirt or oil clogged somewhere blocking fuel and airflow.

Oh yeah, I found good sized metal shavings in a few of my Sure Starts! Not quite necessary but I did put all the parts from a sure start in a ultrasonic jewelry cleaner once and found a bunch of aluminum "dust" and small shavings!

Forgot about the shavings! Yeah, definitely look for that. It'll destroy the engine. Another quality *stes feature.
Also, give it a a big prime by squirting some fuel into the cylinder. It it doesn't run for 1/2 a sec, there's a problem.

yep. i will delete this topic in maybe 4 days or so. if he hasn't taken a look again, tough luck.
just trying to keep the number of "engine won't work"- topics at bay a little. just a housekeeping procedure.
