How do you fix a Starter Spring?

How do you fix a Starter Spring?
I have a few that are a little distorted. How can I fix them? A few of them being reverse springs.
Re: How do you fix a Starter Spring?
I'm surprised no one has made a post yet, I have tried to fix starter springs before but nothing has really "restored" them to the original look. Besides trying to wind it backwards, the one thing I have tried a few years ago was to find a rod or tube that just fits inside a good spring starter. I took a distorted spring and pulled it onto the tube, I heated the spring up with a torch and I used a pliers to wind each "loop" backwards until it looked uniform. It still looked like hell so I never did it again, too much work for a spring I can order a new one.

Found a few the other day.

Oh, you need to fix reverse springs...hmm
Re: How do you fix a Starter Spring?
The only ones I have repaired was to make it again usable with a needle-nosed pliers. Sorry, don't know how to make it pretty. I think the buy a new one is the best approach...or in the case of the reverse one, perhaps a request for a replacement will yield someone who has an extra.
Sorry, I have no reverse ones.
