Cox International Extreme
Boy
I don't know if I've been lucky or if they're all as good what I've just been running in the garden but
it's a cracker.
I've been beating meself up all week worried that the FF5 won't have enough power, seeing as it's
going to weigh 10oz (the dragonfly bits and starter cam may take it nearer 11) I think this engine would be ok with a 30oz model.
It was a PIG at first and I had to put a standard head and 3 gaskets for the first 3 tanks to get it to run but it was very
strong and I knew it was a goodie.
But tanks 4 5 6 with the red head and 5 gaskets and I thought the world was going to start spinning
backwards.
Perhaps it's a combination of the (very) cold weather, Dragonfly tank/needle/reed, and the medallion type throttle
sleeve giving just the right amount of SPI?
All I know is I've run my most powerful Cox 049/051.
This isn't meant as an advert for Bernie's Emporium but if you want a very powerful Cox he's still doing the
Blue Bullet which is basically the same engine/get cracking lads.
6 tanks worth

Re: Cox International Extreme
Those plugs make a lot of compression. I've blown a glow plug trying to run on three shims on a chilly day. You can probably get away with 3 on a hot summer day, but definitely 4-5 in the cold with 30% or more nitro. That's not scientific fact, just my own observation. Glad you've got a good runner there, JG.

Re: Cox International Extreme
It was so cold here yesterday Ew that I had
To put a standard head on it to get it started.
It still held 19.5 though.

Hi John,
Wow, What a speed demon you have there ! Will rpm drop a little with throttle sleeve ? People says no throttle sleeve for SPI cylinder, how's your throttle sleeve perform?
