TD 020/Peewee Empty TD 020/Peewee

Post  ebeneezer Mon Feb 04, 2013 1:58 pm

Another question. I have Peewee with a tatty tank, (to big dia fixing screws) but it runs. I also have a siezed TD 020 with a tatty cylinder. My focus is to getting the TD 020 looking good. Have they got a common cylinder and piston so I could just swap them. Having soaked the 020 in freeing oil for 24 hrs, what is the best way to remove the cylinder, piston still solid I was thinking a bit of heat (how much) and what tool. One last thing, If anybody in touch with Nitroairplane Indra, could you please ask him to get in touch. with me

Cheers Flying

Yes, the top ends are interchangeable. The TD should have a high compression head.

Indra (nitroairplane) has not been heard from for several months.

Piston and cylinder is a straight swap.

Heat is your friend. I use my monokote heat gun with great success. Use the .020 tool.

Thankyou guys heat gun in is. Its a shame about Nitro. He has my other TD 010 for repair. I was hoping to get it back to rob the crank.

Mission accomplished, TD 020 now running, yipee. Clapping Clapping Clapping Just need to service my Peewee. How can I clean the bore without damaging it. It appears to have a ridge in it from where it was siezed when 0n the TD. My PeeWee is very tatty, I'm thinking, a custom paint job. Any thoughts of how.

Nice one Ebz.
I think pound for pound the 020 is the most impressive Cox.
Very Happy

Very Happy
Both I guess Ian
From a Mullah point of view it seems to be the forgotten
td, so (at the mo) doesn't seem to attract the same
Bidding excitement on Fleabay as the others.

And although (IMO) the 09 is impressive it is 4 and a half
Times the size.

Yes the TD 020 is fantastic, but because of its size, I just love the 010. If I can ever track down a replacement crank I want to get mine running and more importantly put it in something Very Happy Flying
