Cox Engine of The Month
Mostly Scratch Built P-51 Mustang!

Mostly Scratch Built P-51 Mustang!
Well since I've been feeling better after my back surgery, I started a new carrier plane (since the last one was not competitive). I had a set of laser cut ribs for a P-51 and two sets of drawings for the plane, one Brodak stunt plane and one modified carrier plane. Between the two P-51 plans and plans to bipe I should have everything I need. Of course this will have a little bigger engine in it, an O.S. .40FP. Maybe a little more engine that needed, but it should go fast. It should turn out just over 300sq in. I'll dope it this time while the weather good. With any luck the doctor will let me fly at the Regionals at the end of the month. Maybe I'll just pit for my boys.

What better way to use dope than on a brush or in a sprayer.
Wing looks great -- here's hoping you'll get that chance to wring it out at Regionals.

The next wing I build is going to have curved corners in the sheeting. I like that.

Thanks buddy. Momma like that money! And the doctor said go ahead. I even changed the water pump, belt, and tenion pull on the old blue truck yesterday. Of course with the help of my sons. I had to have them climb in the engine compartment and do the heavy lifting. Feels good to do something again.RknRusty wrote:Wow, that was a quick rebound, good for you.
