Rebel Snow speeder
Just got one at my local antique mall brand spanking new in box for $50. Still has original plastic wrapping around the box! Has anyone here flown one of these? Should I keep it new in box? Whats it worth in mint condition?

Re: Rebel Snow speeder
Mitch, can you take some sharp clear photos, I'd love to add that to the collectors web site.
I'm not sure, but I think that might be the 'rarer' Star Wars planes, its one you don't see often on eBay. I think 50 beans was a pretty good investment and if you keep it nice it will only go up in value.

I think it would be best not to fly it. Real good chance it will crash during your first few flights then it's not worth much. Looking at the shape of it, my guess it won't do much more than turn circles anyway.

Rebel Snowspeeder
I did a quick internet search. There were a few in the last year offered in the $40 -$50 range, and one sold on ebay at $36 just a couple days ago, so $50 might be on the high side of normal. I find that surprising, but maybe it's just not mainstream Star Wars enough to have much interest to the Star Wars nuts and maybe there just aren't that many Cox product nuts that also collect Star wars.
If it were me, I'd keep it new in box. You'll always get a better price if you decide to resell, but some people actually like to play with their toys.

Re: Rebel Snow speeder
yep, that would be cool, until you put somebody's eye out, lol!
The plastic RTF collectors market on eBay is always down in the spring and summer, great time to buy.
The Star Wars stuff is interesting, since it was made in the late 90's the old guys like myself don't really collect them, we want the stuff from the sixties or fifties. But, I'm sure they start to move up in the future.

I was thinking more like blowing a smoking hole to fly through in the oak grove next to the church courtyard.Mark Boesen wrote:yep, that would be cool, until you put somebody's eye out, lol!...

Re: Rebel Snow speeder
I would not remove it out of the Box. The Last one I observed on Ebay Germany reached over 80$.
I think there are not only Cox enthusiasts interested in, I guess there is a big Star Wars Fan Base too.

Its staying in the box, as much as I would like to hold and look at the actual model, being able to say that I have a cox plane nib is worth it
