Cox Converted Diesel Engines???
I'm intrigued by these. I've never seen one in person nor have any idea where to buy fuel. So... what can you guys tell me about them?

Re: Cox Converted Diesel Engines???
There are no Cox Diesels only Cox engines converted to diesel by replaceing the head or the head and the cylinder.

I don't know where you get the fuel from in the U.S.A. but it is addictive. It smells wonderful!

Place it on the floor in the house where it is easily found.
Pour some into a bowl, lean over the bowl with a towel on my head. Sniff for twenty minutes and then answer posts in this forum!

Yes, diesel fuel smells wonderful but you didn't mention the sound! A model diesel engine on song sounds much better than a glo.

Re: Cox Converted Diesel Engines???
Yep. The Davis stuff is pretty good. I am not a huge fan of his Cox conversions but I do like the heads he makes for other engines. The version he makes tends to leak pretty bad. It takes quite a bit of work to get it leak free for any length of time. The Mecoa head is supposed to be nice. I do not have one but I am sure someone on here does.

Re: Cox Converted Diesel Engines???
Ian, On your TD Diesel, did you buy it with the R/C carb or add it afterward? You can buy diesel in US from Davis Diesel. I bought some from Tower Hobbies. I did not notice at the time, but the stuff I bought from Tower was for the larger engines, not the .049. The only place I have seen the .049 diesel, is on the Davis Diesel site. The carb is an add on
http://coxengines.ca/cox-.049-051-tee-dee-medallion-rc-conversion.html
It stll needs a lot of fettling for the diesel. Still work in progress!

I haven't tried it in a Glo Tee Dee, only a Medallion. It worked fine in a Medallion.
