Precision Throttle Control for .Cox 049 Medallion
Good evening,
i have one problem.
I have buy one vintage kit : Precision Throttle Control CAT n.2450, for the my .049 Cox Medallion.
This kit not fit in the cylinder, the cylinder looks a little 'more' big.
Some people know the reason ?
Thanks

Hi Giuseppe, The original Cox "vintage" exhaust throttle was "mated" to a cylinder with a "ground" outside diameter. Your Medallion has a standard cylinder. You may be able to find a "ground" cylinder on ebay.jorigger wrote:Good evening,

Here's photos that show the difference between a "ground" cylinder (on the left) and a "standard" cylinder (on the right) Note the "bare" metal, where the "black" anodizing was ground off, for the sleeve to fit.
Re: Precision Throttle Control for .Cox 049 Medallion
Giuseppe, here's (ebay listing-U.S.) a "ground" Cox .049 cylinder/piston, which should fit the throttle kit that you purchased... and your engine.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cox-049-Airplane-Engine-Cylinder-Piston-Ground-/280930452885?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4168c28595
If you can find a complete throttle-ring/ground-cylinder/piston, in "new" condition... it would be more assured to fit... but this one probably will be fine. If nothing else; you'd have a spare cylinder and piston.

Re: Precision Throttle Control for .Cox 049 Medallion
This is the throttle you are talking about am I correct?
By the way, it is very easy to upload and post pictures. Just follow the step by step pictures in the tutorial here> https://www.coxengineforum.com/t367-how-to-post-an-image-in-a-topic It could use a little updating but things haven't changed too much.
