No need for apologies - I used to watch "Ed - the talking horse"
However, ED or E.D. or Electronic Developments - first started producing engines in 1947 and still "may be". They started making engines using "scrap" materials after the war. Scrap? Casting crankcases from Rolls Royce Merlin pistons!

thanks for the information very interesting read , SORRY, was just a little before my time although my dad [ Edsell ] will probaley remember he's 75 now and flew a lot of ignition plug model plane engines I will ask him later today if he remembers what engines he had I, wish I had some of those he had but I am sure they are none up in the attic or I would have found them as a child. seems I do recall the name after reading the history of the engine. yes I watch the mister ed show myself in the 60s I believe THANKS AGAIN!!
