They also made those clone TD heads very cheap since that guy was selling them for $4 each.

The TD 049? Yeah, I think they would, but at this point it is still a long way off. Finding reputable companies that would produce parts in short runs and at specific price points is difficult.

Yes, small engines like these would somehow have to be made popular again first. putting them in r/c cars would be a good start.
but unless a big hobby company decides to make these miniature engines en masse again, all we can do is hope. and run our engines.

oh yeah, iforgot about that buggy. its still odd why these micro models aren't as popular as scales like 1:10 and 1:8.
these little machines are great when you live in germany or the UK, and don't have that much room to run big models.

if you do choose to make the td 049s again, please oh please make them right..... dont play an estes. i was talking down at the local vfw and a couple of my old flying friends were complaining about a new td 049 they bought off ebay. it was obviously fake, the seller claimed that they had no idea what it was since it was from "estate sale". it had a cylinder like the ones exmodelengines and coxinternational was selling and it had a goofy glow head adaptor. the engine ran but only made it up to 13k. thats babe bee speeds, not td speeds. i know you guys didn't make it but please don't use those cylinders if or when you go to make them again. i would have to say that the original td 049 cylinders were the greatest cylinders they made.

I'm sure that to get the quality that good the prices would go up but I think it would be worth paying extra for a better product.

Yeah, the newer engines are great for sport, but not ideal for performance.

and i bet they could bring in newer technologies like enclosed conrod bearings, so they can be run with modern synthetic fuel.
also, cnc milling technologies are far more advanced, so i guess cylinders could be produced that match the old cox cylinders
in quality and performance, much faster and cheaper. i really think this is possible.

Ooh you are now the only fold member I think you could do the bearings but it would be easier and cheaper to Kees it original.

yep, ball bearings are definitly more expensive, but they are standard in most high performance nitro engines nowadays.

True but I think the first improvement would be a piston with a wrist pin
