Re: Wanted: Cox 010 Cylinder
It would go to China and will probably never come back.
It's to ensure the fit of the glow head threads.

Re: Wanted: Cox 010 Cylinder
Well...... I would have offered one, but I only have 3 on operational engines. Sorry Bernie. If it would have come back to me then I would have gladly helped.
Maybe I don't understand the process if you send them a head and say make a 1000 of them are they not responsible for that? Surely they can count threads and determine pitch. Head diameter is easy enough to measure as well.
.010 parts are hard to come by, cylinders/pistons are even more scarce. I wish you best of luck of course, but not getting it back is a tough sell.
Hopefully someone here has one that is ruined compression wise, but still has good threads.

Re: Wanted: Cox 010 Cylinder
With that kind of investment I would have a go/no go gauge built and have them at least lot check a percentage or on every shift change check to maintain quality. Otherwise you will get 1000 heads that strip out or are too tight to thread in.

Re: Wanted: Cox 010 Cylinder
We have several new 010 engines here but don't want to strip them as, in the past, the vendor seems to always somehow lose the samples.
We do have the drawings for the head but matching cylinder sample just helps ensure proper fit.
It is very difficult to obtain non-metric tooling in China (or in most parts of the world for that matter) and all drawings get converted to metric first.
