cox 049 throttle ring

How the heck do you get this thing on there ?? it is very tight and don't want to go , going on a dragonfly . Eric well I found the one I was looking for and it has been milled smooth !?Is that right ?

Yes, the throttle ring has to go onto a cylinder with the outside ground smooth.

Thanks Phil , I kindy figured that you (someone) would say that after I looked at the second cyl. with the throttle ring on it I found // Do they come this way or has to be done by owner? At Cox Inter. says it will fit all 049-051 but not case cases ? And it looks like the same ring to me . Eric

Eric, I believe that the earlier rings had a smaller ID and came with a cylinder that had it's OD ground to fit. (I have a set) Bernie could tell you for sure.. but I think his rings are made with a larger ID to fit the standard-common thick-walled cylinders. They won't fit engines with the die-cast cases.
