Re: Need help identifying parts
The NV is for a Cox 290 "Spook"engine.
The wheels look to be for a Ryan .020

Re: Need help identifying parts
Dale Kirn set up the engine for the Spook, but it was also sold as a replacement engine for the 190 postage stamp backplate engines...the planes that didn't used the Babe Bee.
The shorter plastic needle was used on the Spook engine ('65 they went to all brass) as well as the 190 Mustang, Helldiver and green Stuka, whiched used the longer version, this looks like what you have.
The plastic needle was made in the early 60's (c. '62-'64) as a cost savings by eliminating the spring...didn't work very well and was discontinued, i think there were at least two different lengths as well as a red plastic on Helldiver.
The wheels were for the later throttle controlled version pt-20

I don't know, i've never seen a Babe Bee with a shorter needle? I've seen shorter (large head style) that look like a Babe Bee needle, but i think that was used on a Space Bug Jr.?

I have one from a group of parts I won on ebay recently. I will take a picture and repost later. The needle is so short it is hard to grab.

here is a picture of the short Babe Bee needle compared to a regular needle.
The shorter needle was on a Babe Bee on a Yellow Cox Shrike I won on ebay. Compare it to a regular needle on a stunt tank.

Re: Need help identifying parts
Thanks for the pic Happydad , I think I sent all mine on there way I didn't like it either the springs were pushed over the lip to hold pressure , probably the wrong spring / and made it hard to get them started into the threads ,relooking the pic does that one have a lip on the needle ? Eric
