Cox Engine of The Month
For want of a nail....for want of a piston

For want of a nail....for want of a piston
a Cox was lost.
Last of the made-ups, bottom of the barrel, down to this.
Badly over torqued ventless back plate, really nice die cast case with a broken off screw in one of the holes, a crank shaft with a broken off Prop screw, but a decent grooved external ground cylinder and new vented 8cc tank and a new MECOA glow head.
I got real lucky and managed to remove both broken off screws making the crank shaft and case usable again
I was going to use this modified Black Widow tank but I had JB welded the holes making it unvented, no good with the unvented backplate.
I decked the back plate on a flat surface using 400 grit wet/dry paper as far as I dared.
Strange etching on the BW case. IX/V. Used a new vented stunt case instead.
Looks good, but no piston, therefore very little compression.
Anyone have a spare piston? I have a NIP MECOA high compression head to trade.

Thanks Eric, I think you have my address, if not PM me.
Nobody just sells pistons, gotta get cylinders too. I have several orphan cylinders.

Thanks Eric.
Strange Black Widow tank. Extra holes, funny plumbing. Maybe the perpetrator tried to identify it with those etchings.
