Oh boy, so hard to decide......... but the cool *Russian props and the aluminum radial backplates sealed it for me,
Number 3. That's my vote and I'm sticking to it!
* Or whatever they are. They look like glass combat props.

Thank you Rusty and Mauricio , yes glass combat props perfect size for the TD .09
Good thrust sport flying static: 18,733 rpm /25oz / 1.6lb thrust tested with a stock round style cox muffler
with the ring closed off. Guessing about 19.7k rpm open exhaust: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vdF_ydVWrU
Made for F2D .15 size screaming engines / 6.25 x 3.25 can withstand up to 35,000 rpm

The #5 Medallions with the aftermarket Hiscott Muffler / Throttle Control. That piece of eye candy was different and I imagine worked quite well. The muffler seems to be real nice machining work.
The "Tee Dee" (later "Special") .15 is interesting in that it is a single exhaust port.
I remembered the Tee Dees and Medallions at Pete's Model Hobbycraft stores in Ala Moana Shopping Center in Honolulu and another plaza in Kailua, Hawaii. in the latter 1960's to late 1970's, until they went out of business (I think around 1979.) Caveat was their considerable greater cost over the reed valves, which was the only affordable for a college student on his own.
That's why I flew half-A back then on both single and 2 channel. Greatest thing was I was still flying instead of dreaming about it.

I have one of those aftermarket Hiscott Mufflers yet to test it out but have seen a vid / bench run.
Well made for it's day. I need to get mine on TD with no SPI and see what the little gem can do.

I was referring to me! I occasionally read Stunt Hangar and Stuka Stunt. They mention once in a while a known modeler has passed on. There'll be no more clicking the green "" when that happens.modelbuilder49 wrote:Man, I'm not thinking about me!!! .... .... it's telling the other guys before THEY'RE .... R.O.T.F.L.M.B.O.!!
BTW, I like your Keith Laumer profile Gee Bee Z in your sig.

Well deserved win, beautiful engine, beautiful and well composed photo. I do agree with others, lots of great photos again this month. It was a tough choice.
And Thank You to the individual who voted my pic, it did not really deserve a vote considering the other MUCH much better pictures... But without losers there would be no winners, eh

Just got home from golf (nothing worth mentioning there) to find something to cheer my day up. Thanks to those who voted for the MKII Special and also to those who took time out to vote as well.

Congratulations Davenz13 .... beautiful photo.
This is an engine that has a bolt on the piston and a rod, no ?, that is, instead of a ball joint.
What is the history of the engine design? Could you or someone comment on it? I am interested in learning more!
Thank you!
