Medallion .09 crankshaft wanted
Ok guys,
Subject tells the want. My Facebook Medallion .09s have been cleaned up, with new red venturi bodies, a spare P&C, spinner and screw, plus lots of elbow grease.
One if the engines has a worn crank. I can see daylight between the big-end rod and crankpin.
If anyone here has an old Medallion .09 they are willing to part out, please let me know. Otherwise I'm left with holding my breath until I find a stripped engine, or crank and case.
I'd rather NOT buy a complete engine...yet.
Thanks all.

Re: Medallion .09 crankshaft wanted
Have you taken a micrometer to the crankpin?
It’s very unusual for the crankpin to wear like that, I can see the big end of the rod becoming egg shaped over time.
A TD .09 crank will work as well.

Yup...absolutely true! I need to disassemble both engines again, and mic the puns.
I am assuming the worn pin based ONLY on the second P&C also slapping around in the pin.
Both engines were locked up pretty tight. It took a judicious amount of heat to split the parts...glowheads, cylinders, backplates, prop screws...
I jumped in blind and should have slowed down
Out of curiosity, I thought the was some timing differences in the crank ports? I think the Tee Dee crank port is a big, square window, and the Medallion has a smaller, round port.

I don’t think the timing is different. The intake cutout is different like you mentioned. It can’t hurt performance any to use a TD crank and it may buy you some extra RPM’s.
The only reason I brought it up was to broaden your search.
If you used a good bit of force to free the engines I wouldn’t be surprised if the rod was damaged.
It’s possible to bend the pin, but I would imagine being hardened it would snap off before bending.

Hi there, have you seen this? eBay item number: 153410221303 I have up on feebay now, if you are interested it'll cost £4.85p to post it to the US---offer me the start price and it's yours. Is £6.85 an ok price for one of these? Would there be any extra import charges your side??
Cheers, Rob

Rob,
I looked for the auction. It never showed. Maybe my smart phone isn't smart?
Thanks.

It’s a standard crank though.

Jason,
How did you do that? I ran the number and came up empty. I even checked World Wide!
Rob,
Your price is great! However, I checked both of my cranks and they measure up the same size. I now believe I have a worn bottom conrod "bearing." Without a NOS piston, I'd be wasting our efforts (yours and mine). I do appreciate your offer! I think I saw a search for crank on Stunt Hanger.
However, I will say I am curious about how shipping from UK to US works. I keep searching for the Frog Mosquito in a kit, and believe it will probably have to come from over there...if I ever find it!
