Re: wanted sure start engines
Gasoline and plain alcohol wipe all oil on steel parts, so steel parts quickly get rust. Kerosene and raw fuel are best for cleaning an engine. I read this in an article of Clarence Lee column in an issue of RCM magazine.

NEW222 wrote:@Cryhavoc - Can you please put a link to the denturated alcohol that you get from Home Depot. I searched it, bud did not find it so I can see if it is available at Home Depot up here. Best that came up was methyl hydrate and am not sure if that is the same or not. Thank you.
Wow... that is super weird. I used to get some at Lowes as well but neither list it anymore. But whats funny is the icon HomeDepot uses when you search for it. It clearly shows a can of "Denatured Alcohol".
In anycase, You can also get it at WalMart which still actually list it in their search but wow.... look at the prices now. So I'm guessing they've figured out they can call it "fireplace fuel" now and charge more for it. https://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_query=denatured%20alcohol

Steel parts don't instantly rust..... Especially in the dry climate I live in. Been doing this for years guys, learned it in pylon racing where we disassemble after EVERY engine run. And I always reassemble with CLEAN assembly lube. I don't know of one high performance engine guy that would let you anywhere near his engine with old used fuel. Not my first rodeo. Do whatever you want but I've already got a system that works.

backplates (withall stuf that is needed)
props (inc mounting hardware)
happydad has the rest for me
I have these three backplates. Will they work?
- They have original copper reeds that don't look in too bad of a shape. Maybe they can be cleaned up.
- All three will at least need soaking in alcohol to clean off the castor.
- All three needles turn but are a gummy. two of the needles are aluminum.
- Only one has screws.
this sould work
it would be better if all engines are the same but it its better to have a good example then no example at all
so yes i would love to have them

robot797: ask Cryhavoc to send them to me. i can send him address thru PM. that way he doesn't spend $$ sending you ounces when i will send more ounces later and spend a few more $$.
Cryhavoc we already know the rates, so trust us. please.
i will be sending robot797 the bulk of parts when he is satisfied that i-we in the U.S. can get everything he needs except the electronics that he will build there.
If he needs electronic parts he should ask for those too. i was an electronics engineer for almost 40years.
over and out.
