The only one I'm aware of is the aluminum mount made for the " spook".
Otherwise there are some Homemade one's like Roddie's or this one: https://www.coxengineforum.com/t1004p20-postage-stamp-backplate-mount#115039

Unobtanium and cheap shouldn’t be used in the same sentence.

Spook engines usually go for good money especially new. You might get lucky spotting one in a lot of parts on eBay tucked away but if it’s in the open will drive the price up for sure.

As already mentioned they only came on the spook designed engine. The engines themselves are kinda rare.

Is there a reason you want a bunch of steel ones? They were designed to add nose weight for the Spook. They don’t work any better than the standard ones.

wow!  I had NO idea they were from a rare engine.

I've been polishing up some .049's and making "desk art" for display

trying to sell on eBay to help re-finance some of my addiction.
My thought was polish up a non-runner, advertise as art-only, not running,  and try to make $50-ish per motor,    which I could toss back into the fund buying more motors I want.

its not like I MUST have the money?   .... we all know $50 ain't gonna make much difference either way.. but it makes me "feel better" about what I am spending on engines that will eventually go on FF or CL planes for me.

I don't want to polish and sell a tanked back end,   cause?  well, they are like, $25 from Bernie or Matt.  (which is a great price, and I totally support both those businesses - we are lucky to have them) -  but i can't afford to buy $25, then sell at $50...

my current listing is at $37.   so I thought if I could find more of these metal back ends?  it would make easy to polish up to shiney and sell

https://www.ebay.com/itm/334274739488

now that I know they are rare?  I feel a bit ridiculous about selling this one... however?  I have a bidder, and need to honor that.

well, I gotta find another idea for mounting them - the grey 'sure start' back ends?  just aren't as 'pretty'

Thanks for the info guys -- very appreciated...

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to edit the listing and add that it has a metal Spook backplate. Those with eBay watch alerts looking for a Spook engine/parts may get an email about it. Might help drive the ending price up a bit for you.

wow - great idea   -- eBay wont let me change the title, but added to the description. OH well, someone will get a shiny backplate, and probably toss the motor

I'm gonna keep on trying this. its fun to shine them up. but ! now! only with NOT rare parts! Very Happy

I have often thought of machining one up from aluminum much like the red or grey plastic ones but with the Bee bolt pattern. Biggest problem is getting a bunch of fine thread needles. The G clip and reeds are still around. CNC would be better. Alan
