Cox Thermal Hawk Review Empty Re: Cox Thermal Hawk Review

I love any of the Cox motor gliders.  Just before I moved, a member of my former CL club sold me one of these Thermal Hawks N.I.B. for $20.  I just couldn't pass that up!  Hopefully I'll be in a position to be doing some flying by the end of the summer, and I'll definitely get some Cox motor glider time.  Either with the Thermal Hawk or an E-Z Bee.  I don't have any Texaco motors, though.  I'll have to make a clone from some of the parts I have if I want one.  Do we have any instructions around here to make a Texaco clone?  I'm pretty sure I have about three Texaco glow heads in my parts boxes.

I did have a Spyder that I modified a few years ago to use a tanked Medallion. I cut back the nose and made a ply firewall to keep the plane in balance.

There is some information here about the parts:

Opening a slot along crankcase is difficult however. Other differencies are easy to replicate. I think that tapered cylinder and piston can be replaced ordinary ones.
