Charybdis - McCutchen Wing
So, I have issues. Someone shows me something cool, I get obsessed, I have to build it.
I have SO MANY projects right now - I SHOULD walk away from this one --- but? I have the perfect .010 ready for it
the Plan:
https://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=3541
a Video of one in action:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dgung7ugcVw
has anyone here built one yet ? it looks dangerous as heck, and therefore appeals to me.....

Re: Charybdis - McCutchen Wing
Someone had posted photos and videos of it, may have been at Small 7 years ago. @Kim might know. Someone in France made an electric RC version of it. He could control its altitude, but that is about it.

Far out Charles. .010 sounds like a Bumble Bee mad as a Hornet. Lite the fire then run. R/C version is safer.
Flight report soon?

I built the Roto Riser that is an .049 version that was in Ken Willard’s book, Eight Easy Projects for 1/2 A engines…Flew it dozens of times and was surprisingly stable…. Ken’s version had a trim tab on the spoiler to help control climb….I had a broom stick with a nail in the top for a launcher…. It auto rotates very nice on the way back down….. It wore out the Black Widow flying out of sandy cotton fields….Yes, build and fly it…. Mayhem guaranteed….

Yeah, right on @Kim! The Charybdis was nice, but all of them were fantastic and wild!Kim wrote:At S.M.A.L.L. a few years ago. Go to 4:21 or, just watch the whole crazy thing!
(But it didn't match the mayhem - great escape at your last S.M.A.L.L. escapade).

Thats Excellent!! It looks to have been enough fun and mayhem that if anyone under fourty was doing it the police would have been called.GallopingGhostler wrote:Kim wrote:At S.M.A.L.L. a few years ago. Go to 4:21 or, just watch the whole crazy thing!
