I ordered a projector lamp for my DLP TV. The shipping was from Chula Vista, CA. Can you believe the package had to go through Louisville, KY to get to Washington State? No wonder 2 day shipping is expensive! lol!

Crazy!

Did they meet the 48hr deadline, or was it more than 48hrs?

USPS missed a guaranteed overnight by about 5 hrs on a heavy package of mine,,all money returned back to me after I brought it to there attention. They were very apologetic and gave me a instant refund.

If you are 2 daying or overnighting a package, keep track of those reciepts. Wink

It's supposed to be here (WA State) by this evening. It was last in Portland, OR so I'm sure it will make it.

I'm about 30 mi north of Ptld, a sleepy little town of Castle Rock. There is a UPS terminal hub in Longview, but not Fedex,,Just a drop off point for those packages. Most Fedex Packages run right from Ptld to this location, where as the Fedex Letter sized envelopes will go to the drop-off point locally and then out to the locations. I can usually tack on a extra day for delivery with Fedlax for anything.

So UPS usually runs a bit faster for delivery in this area for packages or letter style.

Got home yesterday, and the box was on the front porch. So much for safekeeping a $100 projector lamp! They didn't even ring the doorbell. My wife was home.

AT: If the projector bulb was damaged it probably wasn't properly packed by the sender. Drivers here don't often ring our bell either lest they distrub those within the residence.

If security is a concen, a package may always be shipped "insured" with a "receipt requested" provision.

Those in the freight handling biz are under no less pressure than any other business.

SuperDave,

It wasn't damaged. I was pointing out the fact that the fairly small box was left in the open, and contained $100 worth of merchandise. It was insured, though...

Out here in the sticks of Lampasas county we by sell and trade weapons on the internet

To receive a weapon bough on line you must pick up from a FFL licensed dealer

BUT if you rifle is needing warranty work you mail it direct to the manufacturer and once fixed they mail it back to you

My buddy sent back a Henry Big Boy lever action 45 colt rifle to have bent barrel replaced. They sent it back FedEx

Ervin lives on a county road on 400 acres with main house 600 yards from the gate and county road.

He came home to see an original Henery Firearms rifle box leaning against the gate 10 feet from the road

I joke with him all the time about making a run down his road to see if any 1' x 3' x 3" wide boxes are leaning against the gate....

He called the FedEx dispatcher in Waco and let them know they had an idiot driver
