Re: ebay goodness
Postman (Postman Always Rings Twice (novel JM Cain 1934, Lana Turner 1946) returned today with the rest of it.
But I opened this yesterday:
Trash Mustang and Corvair, plus another vintage .010 and still looking for canopys/trurrets.
Lindberg Avenger motorized. I remember building one of these small do-it-yourself motors as a kid. Nerviously checking the parts I found three armature laminations missing, recovered the shipping box and found the eighth, still two missing. Still trying to figure those canopies/turrets. Kit's are cheap, eaiser that looking for those things alone. Must have been a kid putting it together. I don't understand the speckled paint, but he did a great job on detailing the crewmen.

make plastic stators and update the magnet
Unless you insist on exact original there is no problem with making those 2 rotor laminations from plastic sheet.
This will keep the rotor dimentions as designed at the expence of a little performance loss.
If you change out the old ferrite magnet with a modern "rare earth" version you stlll end up with a motor much stronger then original.
You could then also change the copper wire to a thinner version and wind more turns on the rotor.
This will reduce the rpm and increase torque for a more scale look while running.
Also if you have thin bronze tube that fit snug around the axle then using that as a bearing will improve the lifespan of the motor.
